Where is the best place to metal detect in tampa florida?
I am new to this hobby and I wanna find treasure.....hehehehe
Yep. The beaches are a great place to search for coins and jewelry. But, before you go and detect call the office of the beach you want to detect at. Some beaches allow it and others do not. You don't want to wind up arrested and have your MD taken away. You really should have no problems finding beaches. The same check up is for searching at parks. Also check the laws on artifacts. States have different laws on the age of things you can take. For example New York will not allow you to take anything more than 50 years old. You must contact the state with info of what you found and where. The state of Indiana (where I live) will not allow you to take anything made before Dec. 11, 1816. The site then becomes an automatic archaeological site until the state of Indiana decides what to do. Just go to Florida's site and call the local beaches. You should have no problems. Happy hunting.
