i need a scanner that will work with my 1.83 intel core duo 2GB of ram macbook.
it is just going to be just for scanning 15+ old photo albums. They are quite old. I don't need a super beast because 99% are in excellent condition.

DocuPen Color Scanner $299.99 We love watching those old cold-war era spy movies! Oh, the gadgets those super-agents carried with them made us drool with envy. Pens that explode! Watches that fire steel-cutting lasers! Belt-buckle-mounted winches! It's like being Batman, except shaken, not stirred. That was until the day we saw the DocuPen! 9 inches wide and as big around as your finger, our double-oh-something could drag its shiny reader surface lightly across any surface, scanning in its contents in 24 bit color up to 400 dpi. With its ability to accept micro-SD card expansion, you could scan up to 100 pages before you had to take your scanner back and dock it with your computer for retrieval. Now our super-spy is using gadgets that are spectacular and believable at the same time. Now, if only they can finish building our remote-controlled BMW Z8 with the optional cloaking device and missile launcher, we'll be set! |

How to color my comic on the computer and what programs are needed?
I saw somewhere that you need a scanner to put your hand drawn art on the computer and photoshop to color it is that true? and if not then what is the best way to color your comic on the computer to make the colors bright and beautiful like this http://media.comicvine.com/uploads/0/40/781356-_7_super.jpg versus hand coloring
A scanner would be nice but since I got Vista my scanner is collecting dust. I mostly scanned my inked drawings so now I just take a picture of them with my camera and download from the flashcard. It's worked out so far. You can use just about any drawing/painting program to color. I've seen some very good art produced with ArtRage and their Starter Edition is free and has no time limit. The Full program is only $25.

If you're going to paint, you'll need a Wacom tablet. A tablet gives you more control than a mouse does. Start with the Bamboo (the Bamboo Fun comes with software that you won't need).
If you can afford it, get a scanner and Corel's Painter.
