Limited Edition Indy Pace and SS/T pkg – The Dodge Ram Indy Pace Truck was available in 1996. It included longitudinal stripes similar to those on the Dodge Viper along with an optional door sticker stating "Official Truck of the 80th Indianapolis 500." These trucks had a 5.9 L (360 cu in) engine with upgraded exhaust and 15 hp (11 kW) more power. These also included 17-inch (430 mm) wheels with Goodyear Eagle II tires, size 275/60R-17. The SS/T (Super Sport Truck) version was available from 1997-1998 and included all the same upgrades except the door sticker. The SS/T also had "SS/T" designed into the stripe on both the hood and tailgate. The Indy Trucks were available only in blue with white stripes. The SS/Ts were available in white/blue, red/silver, black/silver, and green/silver. All include a specialty sticker on the inner door stating, "Built with pride in the U.S.A."
How to tell a real Pace truck is a metal plate on the driver’s side frame rail, with a raised number 19 on it. However, the SS/Ts do not have this.

It is Fall and it is Fabulous. While summer winds down and thoughts are of apples, pumpkins, and falling leaves, the fun is just beginning. Your menu and mealtime ideas are changing with the season. Mealplans using minty or maple-coated carrots, green beans with a bit of almond, pumpkin puree oven baked enticing with cinnamon and nutmeg not only make your home smell “autumn” but are a taste change that everyone is really ready for. Candles are great to create that aroma of the changing season, but simmering a bit of pumpkin pie spice, cinnamon sticks, and a dash of vanilla is more environ-metally good than aerosal sprays. That first warm fireplace fire can be just the answer when you come home and the wind was a bit rough. Kick your shoes off, throw your socks into the dryer for 2 minutes, place them on your feet and relish the warmth, then make your way into the kitchen and try these: Sit by the fire and Relax Treats: 8 oz. pkg. cream cheese, softened, 2 tbs. dairy sour cream, 4 ozs. can mushrooms, drained and chopped, 1 green onion, chopped, 4 slices bacon fried and chopped, garlic powder and seasoned salt 8-oz. can refrigerated crescent dinner rolls Heat oven to 375. In small bowl, combine all ingredients except dinner rolls and mix well. Separate dinner rolls into rectangles, Firmly press perforations to seal. Cut each rectangle in half lengthwise, then cut crosswise to make 10 small squares. Spoon a small amount of the cheese mixture into center of each square. Seal tightly around filling to make a “ball.” Place on lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake 10-12 mins. or until lightly browned. Serve with hot cocoa, hot cider, or even creamy tomato soup. Relax and talk over the day – even the kids will enjoy this type of “time out.” When you have a few minutes of outdoor time, grab those shovels, rakes, and hoes. Clean them of all garden debris and wipe with a cloth. Place them in a bucket that you have filled with sand to almost the top. Pour in about 1/4 cup motor oil and stir. Sand should have a slightly moist texture.Place your garden tools in the bucket. Come next spring, they will be shiny clean and ready to use.They won’t rust as can happen over the long winter months. Hand shovels, small garden tines work too. Save the rakes for last because those leaves will fall and raking can be fun for the whole family. If your rake is plastic, then just clean it well of any dead leaves and hang from a clip on a shed wall.
If you don’t have time to clean up your home when you are busy outside, and guests come over, remember that old idea of having Get Well Cards in a drawer to place on mantel or end table. You will be excused from your household tasks and everyone will just relax and enjoy conversation, snacks, and friendship. I know, it rivals throwing drops of water on your forehead just before the family arrives, and leaving that vacuum out. They don’t have to know that the last few chapters of that book were just too good to put aside and time got away. Life Is What You Make It – Make It Simple, Fun, and Filled with Love.
