I think ones heart would speed up a bit if this appeared when out with a detector. There are a couple of local hoards on display in Warwick Museum but not gold coins.

[http://www.flickr.com/photos/29980468@N03] Agreed. I expect most of the time it’s discarded Coke cans that are detected.

  3. Nanny Chris says:

Ah !! Is this the pot of gold that should have been at the end of my rainbow. LOL

[http://www.flickr.com/photos/32249981@N00] Perhaps you should take a metal detector next time you are out walking.

  5. Nanny Chris says:

John I am already carrying a camera, tripod and 2 walking sticks I’ll need a donkey if I take a metal detector as well.

  6. Oxfordshire Churches says:

[http://www.flickr.com/photos/32249981@N00] You can lose the tripod. You’ll never need that when walking – just set a fast shutter speed. BTW, you can buy Leki sticks with camera fittings on the top so that they can be used as monopods. I had one but I left it somewhere when out walking.
